ICT and Digital Technologies
Information Communication and Technology competence is highly valued. The ICT program involves all Pre-primary to year 6 students. Classes engage in explicit instructional lessons to develop sequenced skills in the use of computers and iPads that are integrated across the curriculum in their daily learning to investigate, create and communicate.
Golden Bay Primary School works in conjunction with Comet Bay College to build on and extend ICT and Digital Technologies combined with integrated learning to support the work of our STEM team (Science, Technology, Math and Engineering). This work supports students to move from ICT users to creators. As creators students design, utilise concept mapping tools, and use coding and programming language to move EV3 robots and spheros. Our ICT and digital technology program increases computational thinking and the underlying concepts of digital systems and computer science.
In 2018 we will enter two developmental teams in the Regional Lego League competition.
