Creative Thinking
A school wide Critical and Creative Thinking Program; Kindergarten – Year 6; where thinking is valued, modelled and evident through multiple planned and integrated opportunities.
The Critical and Creative Program is strongly scaffolded with routines that are scoped and sequenced for each different age group.
Critical and Creative thinking is highly valued by all staff who encourage students to open their minds to new ideas, be conscious of their own thinking, question ideas and separate emotional and logical thinking.
The program is designed to stimulate creativity towards new and original ideas that are innovative and divergent. Students are encouraged to take risks and share ideas with others in an environment where multiple answers are possible. Our inclusive setting promotes difference in thinking, and opportunities to justify ideas.
In years 4 – 6 students will be given the opportunity to deepen their journey with Critical and Creative Thinking through engagement in Tournament of Minds at regional level and beyond.
